Do you have a licence to drink in Bangladesh?

Alcohol is forbidden in Bangladesh, but then one can get a license from the administration which permits legal drinking and sale of alcohol. According to Bangladeshi law, alcohol is illegal due to the main stream of the people being Muslim. But then again there are provisions for foreigners and non-Muslims to drink alcohol.

Primary, they have to appointment a doctor (assistant professor or above) for check. The doctor can either concern a clean bill of fitness and permit them restricted drinking of alcohol or praise alcohol for medical purposes.

Then and there, they have to put on to the sub-regional/metro/divisional office of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) for an authorization. Applicants will have to surrender to two passport-size photos, a copy of the National ID card and the medical permit.

If any person by impious the said provisions of the law transmit, carriage, distribute, import, supply, buy, sell, preserve, display or store different types of sedatives then be contingent on the type and amount of the narcotics, he may be liable for custody for different terms.
